I love traditional rivalries, especially in football. Even if we were to move to the East, I'd want to keep the Iron Bowl on the schedule. I think college football fans in general love and look forward to rivalry games, even if it's not their team. Unless I've got something else pressing, I'm going to watch a good bit of tOSU vs. Meatchicken. I'll pull for GT all day long against those filthy Bulldogs. I'll check out Texas/OU and of course, the Shippensburg vs. Towson State clash. And I'll bet a good bit of the country looks forward to the Iron Bowl as well. I don't want to lose that.
On another note, I heard a lot of talk this morning on Dye's comments and people were arguing that it has nothing to do with location because teams are flying and there's really no flight between SEC sites that would be more than an hour or two. Maybe Gainesville to Mizzou would be an exception. But it's not just the football team that's traveling. Do the softball chicks fly to Columbia for a meeting with the Cocks? Does the tennis team fly to Knoxville? And if the Equestrian team has a match up with Kentucky, how they gonna' get them damn horses on a plane? Geographically, moving to the East would just make good sense from an economic standpoint.
