I have to travel to Los Angeles for business. The location I'm auditing is located in Commerce (east side of the city).
Which airport do you recommend: LAX or Long Beach?
I went through LAX and there was surprisingly little hassle. It was a much easier visit than I imagined. Never even considered flying to Long Beach. Guess I didn't know I could. Looked at Burbank, but that was too expensive comparatively.
Some things to remember:
1) In Koreatown redlights mean nothing to pedestrians. I nearly hit two old Korean men wandering in the street against the light.
2) If you're over on Sunset and see an old homeless man in a plaid shirt, khakis and a blue trucker hat do not look. He might drop out his Beluga white man beast and piss on the sidewalk. As well as dribble down his leg.
3) The girl in fishnets on Hollywood Blvd. isn't a girl
4) Just because the map says you're 30 miles away doesn't mean it's 30 minutes. Jesus hell. Left at 7:45 am from Anaheim for a 10:30 appointment just north of Hollywood (33 miles on the map) thinking we'd have plenty of time to eat something and do a little sightseeing along the way. Shit. Barely made 10:30.
5) Little Saigon has a mean vibe. Avoid that area.
Commerce is like in East LA, right? LAX is closer if I remember. If it's East LA, look up Cheech or Chong.
