Auburn Baseball 2017

Haven't read anything on them so far but in looking at their roster and some of the bio's, it does appear they signed some bad ass freshmen, especially pitchers. The schedule: Suck!

18 straight home games to start the season against teams like Holy Cross and Presbyterian and UAB and Lipscomb and George Washington. There are a couple of games against GT sandwiched in the conference schedule but otherwise, the OOC slate is fairly putrid. Maybe they're just trying to get a bunch of wins (No guarantee there) and get some confidence since they open the SEC against Florida. Yeesh!

The Bama series is at home this year so there's that, Anyone been studyin' up on our beisbol Tigers?

So, the one piece I just read says that after a 22-33 (8-22 SEC) slate in 16', the SEC coaches voted Auburn to finish tied for last in the West and 12th overall.

Okay, so expectations won't be a problem.

With Jay Jacobs at the helm of athletics there's always a chance we'll suck beyond the telling of it but we will have garish scoreboards and decor.

actually plan on hitting one of next weekends games. Coach Thompson is one I am really rooting for here. Great guy, great recruiter, has some history here, does things the right way, has a huge amount of respect in the sport from lots of people.

We split the doubleheader today, 2-0 and 5-9. In the nightcap, the bullpen gave up 5 runs in the 9th.

In fairness George is pretty old. His bat is a little messed up where they made teeth out of parts of it too.

The Tigers beat George Washington today 4-3 to go to 3-1.

Attended this one with the kiddos. Was a great atmosphere and fun day at the park. Was surprised how packed it was.

George Washington was actually a solid team.

Didn't really notice the improvements all that much. Only because I had read about them ahead of time. But that stadium was already nice to me so no big deal there.
