Auburn, Ala.--On Feb. 3 the Auburn University Board of Trustees will vote on a new 44,000-square foot facility to be built on to Jordan-Hare Stadium that would enhance Auburn’s locker room spaces, the recruiting lounge and also add a new press box.
The multi-story facility would include a 16,000-square foot renovation to Auburn’s existing locker room facility, new recruiting space for Auburn football as well as Olympic sports, a club level area for fans plus a new press box to relocate the media. That would open prime seats near the 50-yard line to be used for high priority ticket holders.
The facility is scheduled to be built onto the Southwest Corner of Jordan-Hare Stadium where the Tiger Walk entrance is currently located.
With the need to meet premium seating one of the goals moving forward, this should allow the current press box area to be renovated in the future to add additional club seating at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The estimated total cost of the project is $28 million and will be financed entirely by the Auburn Athletics Department. If approved construction is scheduled to begin in May of 2017 with a completion date of July 2018.
