Just curious.

Are you on the Gus party train? Are you off it?

If you're on, what would cause you to depart? If you're off what would cause you to get back on?  And what would a realistic alternative be?

Or are you still standing on the platform indexisively?

Off.

Needs to have a stellar season. Must beat LSU and Georgia. Needs to seriously challenge Alabama in the Iron Bowl. SEC W might be required. Most of all, no more shit-duck gameplans against good teams. No "what the goddamn fucks" against Jacksonville States. No more "can't win because the offense forgot how to move ten yards downfield" against Alabama or Georgia or Clemson.

Pretty much needs to look like his five year effort has resulted in a formidable program that will consistently compete for the West title.

I don't have any real alternatives. I'd take Richt if he wanted back in the SEC. Jimbo. Peterson. Just someone that puts together solid teams that rarely look like pee wee programs.

Still hanging onto the string, waiting to pull it at the next stop...bought a 55 gallon drum of grease for the tracks just in case.

He should have no excuse whatsoever for putting together a shit show on offense, save a flu bug hitting the entire offensive bus.  He will have Stidham and White at QB who are both proven.  He will have several very good backs.  He will have about 36 sophomore receivers that should be ready to step up.  He will have an offensive line that has a lot of starts under its belt with talented backups as well.

If he puts together a game plan like he did for Clemson, aTm, Georgia or bammer this season, I say fire him on the spot.

In my humble opinion, anything short of a "playoff" Iron Bowl for the SEC W would be a fireable offense.

He speaks for at least one of us.  Remember how LSU handled Miles last year?  Like Buzzer said, if we see him pull anything like the shit he did against Clemson...GONE!  Buh buy!

99% off hanging on by a finger. If not for stidham I'd be completely off and calling for his head. Stidham will save his ass for a couple of years. And then what? Same shit show. Anything less than double digits with this guy at qb and he needs to go. The excuses have ran out.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

OFF.

Its what he hasn't done or established in his time at Auburn. This is the time to get a toehold in the SEC West preparing for Saban's departure. Instead, we are faltering against others we should beat.

I'm wondering how many more years we will have to wander in the wilderness.

I'm scared it'll be at least two.

We still haven't named a new president, which means Jacobs is safe for a while. Same we name, approve, and start a new president by this summer. That means you'd have to fire Jacobs over the summer or into next season and have a new AD named, approved, and working before December.

So we'll have Jacobs hiring another football coach or Malzahn retaining his job. Highly unlikely we have a new AD hiring the new coach in 2017, so much more wilderness to wander.

Assuming the new President fires the AD at all. Auburn University is doing quite well right now so the chances of them hiring a "boat rocker" are a little far fetched. More likely, we keep JJ for many more years. He'll dump the Gus Bus once he has run enough gas out of it to make the buyout single digits. That what I think. So 8-5 might look really good in a few years if we keep regressing.

I don't know where I am anymore. Part of me wants to see him succeed because I don't want to keep switching (and paying) coaches every 4-5 years. Time in a program can create things, see Yabo Dabo almost be fired by Clemson following his 2010 campaign.

Unfortunately, I don't see time as being a healing factor for Gus, he consistently makes the same mistakes time and again, without learning from them. I worry Stidham might be lightning in a bottle which is great short term, but long term where does it leave the state of our program?

The one thing I am sure of is I don't want Jacobs hiring our next football coach.

I see Stidham as a more durable guy to White who has a better deep ball, can avoid a rush and get loose enough to move the sticks now and again.
Still not what we need.

We need something close to Nick Marshall's running ability to offset our coaching deficiencies. Gushlee hasn't shown that he can handle a passing QB or at least one that is predominantly a thrower. And the read option needs to be run in concert with a back like Pettway with passes sprayed around not in separate parts like these dumbasses insist on running.

And the Barrett kid must not have the goods or he wouldn't have been redshirted when we were so desperate.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Barrett yet.  Had they burned his RS in the middle of that clusterfuck this season (making 5 scholly qbs active) I'd have screamed bloody murder about reactionary roster management.

If your can't get 2 of 4 guys ready to go, what good is another warm body to you?
