For me, it has nothing to do with being the measuring stick. Alabama football has simply leached the joy out of the sport for me. They lie, they cheat, they steal, they prosper. It happens at Michigan, LSU, Clemson, and every other college in the country. The rationale is that they are kids and kids are going to have off days, have emotional lapses, or whatever. Not in Shitscaloosa, though.

It's not fun. I don't enjoy it. It bleeds into everything else. I'm sick of seeing them, sick of hearing about them, sick of them being part of the conversation in every fucking game I try to watch. Even if it's Eastern South Michigan playing Cuddlefish State, somehow the chowderhead announcers will work a Saban or Alabama reference into their commentary. Over the last few years I've gradually just quit watching. I don't even watch our games any longer. For the second straight year I did something else rather than watching the Iron Bowl. I just don't care. It wasn't worth it.

It's not fun any more and neither is the arms race of trying to keep up with those assholes where decent men/coaches like Les Miles get canned in favor of a yowling chest thumper like Orgeron, where Tom Herman has a decent season or two and snags a $6 million salary from Texas. It's just not fun.

The short road to newfound success is to do Lashlee a favor, show some fucking backbone (don't wait on a directive or ultimatum) and go get Kendal Briles, the nuts and bolts of the Baylor offense. And as a bonus you go get Stidham...back in the hunt.

I watched a couple of series (two, 3 and outs I think) and went back to the casino. Had a better time losing money and drinking house beverages. Don't know and don't care what bowl game Gus/Rhett can fuck up. I am tried of hearing his "coach speak". Should we win the "Cabbage patch bowl" I don't want to hear how that is something to build on for next season. Cubs fans have been saying that for the last 107 years, till this year. I don't care about the media damage, go get Briles. I miss coming back every year, done it 12 years in a row till the last two years, its like avoiding an old friend who is slowly dying and nothing I can do about it.

^^^The part about our "culture" up there...I couldn't agree more.

It's a balancing act and yes, our football is more important to me than other sports. But, Auburn is more than one or two subpar seasons.

Enough already? I don't know when that is. Maybe next season, if we lose to Georgia and Alabama again. That's getting really old.

1. Most everybody loses money is Vegas, tis why the lights are so bright.

3. Its easy to live close and pick and choose which games you want to go to. Lets say Auburn comes off a really bad season in 2018 and 2019 is not looking good, I am sure you will be one of the first ones lining up to schedule your trip to Dallas.
4.I am talking Auburn athletics as a whole. Football (fall season) is just the time we were choosing to come back for. For right or wrong, athletics are what show off your University.
5. During that 12 years, I saw 2008 and you knew we were going to lose (arky game, we were 18 point favorite), was there in 2012 when you knew A&M was going to kick our butt. 2006 when Gus could coach an offense, just for someone else. (Arky again)
6. When your cross town rivals have 4 of the last 7 and most likely 5 of the last 8 MNC, you tend to be frustrated and I don't get the near the shit that I know you locals have to put of with.
