I'm taking Clemson and A&M off the board for any conversation about any aspect of this offense.  They simply were not given a chance to do anything productive in those games due to shittastic playcalling/substituting/etc.

True. I wasn't sure how any sane person could have added them into ANY evaluation of ANY AU QB!
Total abomination of play calling/substitution.

What I heard from the local sports Radio this am: The Alabama representative (thank God) was Roger Shultz. Question posed was could anyone beat Alabama.

He thinks no one is going to Run on Alabama, so it's going to take an elite QB that can pass/run.

I think most of their fans probably feel the same way.

They very well may be right but I think that if anyone left on the schedule has a legit shot, it's AU. Of course, he would never say that.

If the White boy can threaten with a few deep ones and connect on the others, we have a puncher's shot. We aren't lining up in the I and trying to blow them off the line of scrimmage. It's physical running but it's misdirection.

They are the best team in the conference and I have no problem admitting that. At the same time, I feel like we are now the second best team and improving at a faster rate.

Side note on Clifford Franklin XXVI

In watching the replay, I confirmed what I thought I saw Saturday night on one play, and is one of the biggest reasons I didn't want this guy as our starting QB.  He kept it around the left side on a read option.  Got about 5 yards before a D-lineman got him.  The guy grabbed Franklin and threw him to the ground like a rag doll.  You could see the back of his head hit the turf hard and the kid was a wobbly weeble getting up.  They took him out.

He's impressed me several times and his speed is as advertised.  Have no problem with him coming in as a change up.  But, I honestly believe he'd have long since been a casualty of war by now if he was the every down QB.

I saw that too. He had checked for a few minutes.

They showed him on the video board after it happened and it reminded me of what Greg McGingerdouche looked like when TSharvan did that to him.

And then we would be right back where we were last season...SW trying to run JF3 plays!

I see Chad Kelly keeping this next one at Vaught- Hemingway uncomfortably close for a while until we rough him up a bit. I base this mostly by our coverage against the two teams that beat us. Both have very good receivers and we gave those receivers a large cushion.
Ole Miss has very little run game but they  can throw it around. That said, we should still run a mudhole through them and shorten the game by running clock for an SEC road win.

The way our Tigers are playing right now, I have no doubt they'll be victorious this weekend. Ole Miss will make a stand early, but they'll fade faster than a pair of Snags jeans.

I've read that a few of their players got into a scuffle on the sideline Saturday night. If true, the wheels could be falling off their buggy and they may do like our 2012 squad and say "Screw you guys, we're going home."

Either way, I doubt Gus wants to embarrass his buddy Freeze too badly - unlike his nemisis Fat Bert. I predict a solid win, but something in the 10-14 point range.

Unfortunately Gus and Freezie have this high school kinship so yeah we win, not to our liking maybe, just not like Harbaugh trying to tag 150 on Rutgers.
