Anyone have a secret ninja trick to one-way car rentals?  Shit is crazy expensive.

Cheapest I can find is around $510 for a 4-day rental from VPS to ORF.

On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.

yes...see if you can find a Rental Agency that may be looking to shuttle cars from one location to another; otherwise, go ahead on handing the agent a tube of KY.

one other thing use as many coupon codes as you can find.

1) Book the round trip rental.
2) Buy insurance for $7 bucks when you pick it up
3) Drive anywhere you like
4) Leave keys in it or on it whenever you fly out
5) Report stolen

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Actually, the best plan is 1-3 (weekly rental) followed by dropping it off early at the other location.  What can they do to you at that point?

I like that plan except that it puts me behind the wheel for 14 hours after an extended party weekend.

Might have to extend the trip and break it up.  Good idea, Buzz.

I'm good for at least one per year.

Isn't there a website that will hook you up with folks wanting a car driven from one place to another. And you get paid.

Sometimes, depending on what's hidden it the trunk, you get paid A LOT!

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

That would be ideal, if legit.  Sounds too good to be true...especially the bonus party package.

Not to derail the party but....

When I bought my first BMW I bought it in Arkansas. Was a spur of the moment purchase.  I'd driven up there in a rental.  When I went to terminate the return trip and leave the rental in little rock they were going to charge me $500. The agent actually told me to leave the car in a motel parking lot and abandon it.

I didn't.  I kept raising hell until they took off the fee.
