What happened here with Swain? Despite being a horrible actor, I thought the guy was getting bigger, stronger and earning more playing time. Then, he's just not a part of the program anymore. Have no doubt if he's in shape that he can step in at Southern Miss and be an impact player right away. Hate it didn't work out at AU....whatever the reason. from the dot I am a gay twerker that has no balls!!!! I also have no idea how to use the quote function to post stories, so I annoy the piss out of others. I like male genatalia in and around my mouth. at the al
Former Auburn linebacker Anthony Swain is headed to Southern Miss as a graduate transfer, according to multiple reports.
Swain had 18 tackles with three for loss and one sack while appearing in all 13 games with one start for Auburn last season.
A Southern Miss spokesman was unable to confirm the addition of Swain, whose new destination was first reported by the Hattiesburg American.
The Gadsden native left the Auburn program prior to the start of spring practice and was thought to be moving on from football, but he will play his last season of eligibility.
Recruited as a safety, Swain redshirted in 2011 and moved to linebacker in 2012, appearing mostly on special teams.
He spent the past two seasons in a backup role, appearing in 27 games with 44 tackles, four for loss and a sack. After missing spring practice in 2014, Swain was reinstated to the program in May of last year.
His one career start came against LSU last season in place of middle linebacker Cassanova McKinzy, who missed the week of practice but played the majority of the game.
Swain was most noted for his injury against Arkansas in 2013, drawing the ire of ESPN commentators and fans for what appeared to be faking an injury, which Swain, coach Gus Malzahn and then defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson denied.
