Shelby and taxes
« on: April 17, 2015, 03:06:44 PM »
Shelby introduces a flat tax bill.
http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2015/04/favor_a_flat_tax_sen_richard_s.html

Of course, the first noise you hear is crying from the liberals that he's "penalizing the POOR!!!"  People who don't pay taxes are now going to be forced to take food off the table.

Here's the deal.  If you can't see that it's wrong (and inherently socialist) to hit me for 35% in taxes while somebody else who makes less pays 5%, then you need help.

We're fast reaching the socialist ideal where we promote equality of outcome over equality of opportunity.  That's Obama's platform for sure.

It fucking pisses me off that people who pay literally nothing in taxes will also get these massive refunds that they typically squander on things like big screen TVs.

What we're doing now is wrong.  Everybody who uses public goods and services should pay.  It should be set up so simply that the IRS is not needed, nor is there the huge April 15 debacle.

Don't know if Shelby's way is THE way, but something has to be done.

Don't know what the solution is.  That's for more deeperer thinkers than my fried brain is capable of.  Maybe now that tax season is over and VV is finishing up gobbling the last of the celebration dicks, maybe he can offer some insight.

I signed off on mine this week and all hail 7 1/2 pound baby Jesus, I'm getting back a nice chunk of change.  Have no qualms about those alms (Made that up just now) because there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth each quarter when we write those massive checks to Uncle Oba...err, Sam.  Amazing how much this little mom and pop firm pays to the gubment.  I'm taking this refund and building me a nice back deck to enhance my grilling and beer drinking pleasure.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Party on your deck? I already have a big deck. I recommend enhancements to your deck. It's a good investment and the chicks dig big decks.

I feel like we have already had this conversation on the X.  However, you can make your deck look bigger by trimming the hedges around it.

Refresh my memory. Just how big is your deck? They tell me mine is huge but I know it's all relative. I mean, to those with smaller decks. I don't go around bragging like, "I have a huge deck!" I'm too classy for that. But it is a good-size deck even if I do say so.
