^^Assuming we can stop the run and tackle better in open field I would say not having to bring the heat artificially should helo us right away. But this also assumes Lawson returns to previous form and we get better production from the other side. Adams should hold his own inside but depth could be a problem.

Don't like that statement from Gus. I hope Coach Boom tempers those expectations a bit. Losing Lawson last season was a blow but come on, he wasn't exactly Kevin Green over there. I think he had 2 1/2 sacks. Montraviosity@aliciousness Adams completely disappeared and no one ever knew if Daniels was even on the field. Getting Cowart was huge...for the future. He may come in and light it up. Sure hope so. But I don't expect him to be much better than Lawson was his freshman year.

Not being negative. Just realistic. We were horrible and soft in every way last season. I just want CBM to come in and make these mofo's up front mean and ready to take whoever is in front of them and whip dat a$$.

Thought the same about that statement. Our front looked mostly disorganized, nothing like a unit from all I could tell, sort of everybody do your own thing. This resulted in large running lanes against anybody that likes to run.

I think a healthy Adams finds himself at end on the next level, maybe after the coming season.

We really need/needed some inside help to develop and missed badly.

I agree, however just to point out one thing. Adams wasn't playing his position 90% of the time. They were trying to get pressure. Hopefully him back at DT will help.

I think Gus is saying that we can but not saying that we have. Maybe he means we "should be able to" get more pass rush and I agree. It was almost non-existent last season and didn't look much better with blitzes.

Bottom line is that we have to improve in all facets on D but especially pass rush. That was the most glaring to me.

I don't know Lawson's freshman numbers but I thought he had a big impact. If Cowart gets close, I think we will be much improved with pass rush. And I trust that our more experience, depth and going to a 4-3 will benefit our run stopping.

Pass coverage, I don't know. I feel like a lot of our break downs last year were due to a deficient rush. Will and I will work tirelessly to get us to where we need to be. That's all I can promise.
