Dismukes and Payne are first team All SEC.

Coates and Jonathan Jones are second team.

Daniel Carson and Gabe Wright are Honorable Mention.

Bama has 13 total.  Sims is second team All SEC QB.

We lose a lot to graduation this year and possibly more if Sammie and Duke come out.  Inside sources gf say that Sammie gf is a done gf deal to gf come out gf like VV.

Off the top of my balding dome, we lose

Offense

Dismukes
Slade
Bray
Marshall
Artimus Pyle
Grant
Uzlamabadabi
Fulse
Coates (gf)
Duke (More than likely IMO)

Defense

Wright
Blackson
Bradley
Mincy
Therezie
Whitehead
Owens
Whittaker
Reed

Our long snapper returns.

This team will look vastly different next year but Malzahn has always adjusted his offense to fit the personnel.  Probably better than most corches around the country.  Normally, you are what you are and you hope you recruit to fit what you run. In Malzahn's case, they even set what at the time were Auburn records with a sloth footed, gimp arm retard at QB.  Marshall was obviously the polar opposite of Todd and the O was geared around his strengths.  Jeremy Johnson.....Hmmmm.....the possibilities.

Here's our key loses (hint...good starters):

Offense...
QB Nick Marshall
RB Cameron Artis-Payne
RB Corey Grant
WR Sammie Coates
WR Duke Williams
WR Quan Bray
TE/HB CJ Uzomah
C Reese Dismukes
RG Chad Slade

Defense...
DT Gabe Weight
DT Angelo Blackson
DT Ben Bradley
DE LaDarius Owens
Star Robinson Therezie

So, we lose around 90% of our good offensive starters and we lose around 25% of our good defensive starters.

Our Offense was really good and our Defense was garbage (after opponent's OC realized you can throw at Mincy all game). The good about the defensive side...Mincy is gone, the bad...so is nearly the whole defensive line.

QB Marshall - Johnson (Improvement in the passing game, drop in the read option)

RB CAP & Grant - Jovon, Roc, Barber & Kerryon (About the same production)

WR Sammie, Duke & Quan - Ray, Davis & ? (Johnson throwing the ball, the production at receiver will still be there but it'll just be spread out, definitely won't have the deep ball threat that Sammie & Duke brought)

TE Uzomah - ? (As much as I'd LOVE for Coach Malzahn to utilize the TE, the position seems to be more for blocking purposes)

HB Fulse - Chandler Cox (I really wish we'd had him this year, Fulse has A LOT of trouble run blocking, maybe he just isn't strong enough, whatever the case may be, he's not that good at it)

C Reese Dismukes - ? (This might be the one position that'll truly be a glaring loss)

RG Chad Slade - Avery Young (Alex Kozan back at LG)

DT Angelo, Gabe, Bradley - Montravious & Lambert (the loss here is in the depth, not so much production wise, because the DTs weren't as productive as I thought they would be)

DE Owens - Lawson (Owens was more of backup that saw decent playing time, but if Lawson had been healthy, that playing time would've been significantly reduced)

CB Mincy - Blade of Grass (Yup, a blade a grass could cover a receiver better than #6)

Star Therezie - New DC, probably no more Star position
S Whitehead - Tray Matthews (Whitehead was gone for a chunk of the season, but he did have some senior leadership out there...eventhough some of the time the secondary looked completely lost on pass plays)

So, in summary...the only true losses, in my mind, are replacing Duke and Dismukes.

Guess the big question we will all be asking ourselves is: Can Auburn win right away next year?

*What kind of defensive scheme is Bill Clark fond of?
This could be crucial to our success.

Also...can we find another wide receiver to be a lockdown corner by the Spring game? If so, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict 8 wins and bowl victory over Clemson.

Has anyone compared and contrasted these two reports from these two posters, supposedly regarding the same thing (i.e. returning starters, who's leaving, etc.)?

I rarely read anything from either of these posters who seem to know very little about not very much, but I am wondering which one would be worth the effort, assuming that one is. Thanks in advance.

As Prowlie said, we may not have the big, deep threat without Sammay and Duke.  I think we will have a very quick, athletic group in Marcus Davis, Stanton Truitt and possibly Jason Smith, if he stops hittin' the bong.  I think the guy winds up at WR.  I imagine they'll use Ricardo "Hands of Stone" Louis to step in to Sammay and Duke's role.  One guy I think they wanted to use this year but the WR group was just too deep was Myron Burton.  6'2" physical kid they threw deep to a lot in the practice I went to.

Just need to make sure JJ finds him some go to guys in the spring and summer workouts.

Defensively?  We're still shitty.  And we don't have a corch.

When looking at who we are losing, I am not very encouraged about next year. On the flip side, getting Kozan and Lawson back, seeing Roc and JJ more, gives me hope. Still, I don't see a run for the west right now until I see some D.

And we gotsta get a Duke type presence on the field, even if he can't jump up and take it away from 11 people like Duke. Just someone that threatens winning the majority of 1 on 1 battles would help. A fosho physical receiver plus a burner (Stanton Truitt) would make for a nice combo.

That's the only thing we have to worry about next year.  Offensively....it's Malzahn folks.  Just give him some talent to work with and the scoreboard will light up.

First and foremost, we need a bada$$ corch in place.

I think that you meant Bill Clark but yeah, that would be cool.

But, it's looking more and more like it could be Willie Fortner from Demopilis, which wouldn't be a bad hire IMO. He's working at the Winn Dixie there now but he was a youth sports legend, coaching there for over 30 years. And he volunteer coached with the high school. I used to see him chalking the field, mixing Gatorade and stuff.

He's been around and he'll get after their ass. I've heard him yell: "Fire off and hit somebody!" on more than one occasion. And we know that's the mark of a damn good coach, when they say fire off. That means they know what they are talking about.

We don't rate a guy like Clark but it doesn't hurt to think big WT. I'll have to study up on Fortner. That "fire off" stuff makes me want to don some pads and a bonnet.
