You know Chizad the Pirate...the guy that dresses up on our team like a Pirate.

Wait, there's a guy on our team who dresses like a pirate?

I've noticed we have a lot of great candidates on this here board. I don't know why Gus hasn't sent a PM to more than one of you already. Then again, maybe he already has. #auburnfast

I received one, but politely turned Gus down.  Told him that I didn't want to ruin my reputation and chance to land at a bigger program.  You know, like Starkville.

I have already spoken on the Mullen to UF scenario. Why do you people fail to recognize and appreciate my insight?

I'm the only real insider on here and I run in the same circles with other insiders. Others on here borrow their uncle's password to get on Inside the Auburn Tigers message boards or get info from their brother in law who has a membership at the Y and has a water aerobics class with "someone in the know".

Bitches, Mullen isn't going to Florida.

I don't like Muschamps personality but would take him in a second as DC. I kind of doubt it happens due to the aforementioned issues with Jackson and Jacobs.

If there are zero changes on the defensive staff, I expect zero change in the defense next season. I hope Gus will make changes as needed or that I'm wrong if he makes none.
Oh Swami,
Wouldn't you think EJ gets an extention rather than a pink slip?  I mean, we're gonna beat the Turds at their place right?

I could see EJ taking a DC job after his experience at Southern but I don't think Boom is apt to retrace his roots after being at the precipice with Texas and coming off the Florida gig with bulging pockets.

Is Coach Rock not the #2 man at UGA behind DC Jeremy Pruett?
Have we not enough room on the payroll for both he and Garner being as Garner is our recruiting chief?
That would put UGA in a fucking headlock and likely injure other programs pilfering talent in that state.

On another note: Other than Brian Kelly, Jim Harbaugh, Dan Mullen and our own HC, aren't Butch Jones and Mark Stoops young enough and better long term candidates for the UF job than the many we have seen mentioned? I think Foley will avoid anyone he doesn't think he can eventually manipulate.

Personally I think Foley will avoid anyone he doesn't think he can eventually manipulate.

This.  Foley comes across as a meddling, power hungry mofo.  I can see how he and Coach Boom might not have been BFFs.  He looks like a wanna be drill sergeant and probably has delusions of grandeur.  Not very impressed with him.

Foley has two things IMO opinion that drive his coaching search.
1. He has to go offense, as anemic the Gathas have been on offense, and with the fans clamoring I think this is the route he takes. (unless he were to pull off someone like Harbaugh, which if Harbaugh goes anywhere its Michigan)
2. He has to go proven Head Coach, he can't afford another coordinator no matter how good he appears.  This criteria might change depend on who turns them down, but I still think they won't really target any coordinator coaches.

Actually from what I have heard from actual bull gatahs and supposed PITK is that he is a great AD. He also has always had a pretty good reputation.

"Don't know if the problem is Obama, the polar vortex, Jeremy Foley, Kristy Malzahn or that embarrassing dance video that is distracting Gus. All I know is that it needs to be fixed...toot sweet!
Samford is gearing up for a showdown at JHSPDF."

I half- jokingly threw Foley's name out on another thread as possible reasons for our recent struggles on offense.

Somebody tell me we have no reason for concern and kindly list the reasons.

I dont think someone's first DC job needs to be at a big name SEC school. I like Rock but hes never been a DC. The top part of the SEC, especially at Auburn where our Defense sucks, is not a place to learn on the job as a coordinator.

He has a good rep but he's 1 for 3 on football hires and the one ended rather odd.

Actually I was sort of hoping to bring him back and us go Co DC's until EJ leaves.
Maybe that's asking too much.

Paul Rhodes?

For a DC I think that would be a damn good hire.  You know where I stand on Tuberville and that I am not his biggest fan.  Never have been.  But he is a great defensive mind and was real high on Paul Rhoads.  Tired to hire him before he hired Muschamp.  Despite what happened at the end of the 08 season, Rhoads had us ranked #2 in total defense until the wheels feel off and we still managed to stay a top 20 D under him.
