- Maybe there are some people interested in what Tom Luginbill has to say. Maybe they even want to see his face as he watches a game from the sidelines. Maybe they also don't really care about seeing the actual plays on the field.
Auburn
- The ROC is loose! Roc hard! Roc Rock! Roc & Roll! What the hell are we going to call that kid? I think green is a good adjective for now. He had some moves and some quickness, but he definitely ran the ball like he thought he could score every play. Taking it in from five yards out in the 4th quarter against South San Francisco was impressive, but he definitely has a lot to learn about running in the SEC.
- Two years ago, we thought we had a roster of kids that most likely would not start for any respectable team in the SEC. Now, some of our 2nd stringers would be starters on some of the best teams in the SEC.
- Jeremy Johnson would start at every SEC school except Texas A&M and maybe Missouri. MAYBE Miss State, but I think he'd win the job. He could walk to LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Missouri and even Ole Miss and after walking, he would be handed the 1st string duties at QB.
- But he can't start at Auburn. Does that blow anyone else's mind?
2004 and 2010 are the only two years when Auburn has had a solid quarterback that was no doubt the best starter at the position. People bitched about Brandon Cox in 2005 after the first game and thought a true freshman Kodi Burns should take his spot in 2007.
In 2014, it's apparent that we not only have one quarterback that will definitely win as the starter but two. There is no injury concern at quarterback.
Mind boggling.
- CAP will be that player that gets overlooked because college football analysts are nepotistic, traditionalist douche bags. Between our offense and his ability, he's going to have top 5 NCAA running back stats and may get a head nod if we win all of our games.
- Those that wake up tomorrow morning and see "Auburn wins 59-13" will not have the correct headline of the game. Yes, we blew out San Jose State. Yes, we were all around better than them and were never in trouble. But there were missed tackles. Blown coverages. Lack of closing speed on receivers. Confusion. Chaos on the defensive line. If we're going to have any shot at the SEC championship, our defense has to get better. A lot better.
Alabama
- "Derrick Henry runs into the backs of his offensive linemen, tries to make something out of nothing, and falls down for a three yard gain." "And that's just Derrick Henry being Derrick Henry! The rich get richer! How Alabama has stockpiled so many of these backs!"
- Just shut the hell up! Amari Cooper is fast. I know. I know it because I watched him run past some scrawny kids wearing Florida Atlantic International State Technical Institute for the Poor and Forgotten uniforms. I know Kenyan Drake is explosive. I know because some fat defensive back was pulling his own pants up as Drake ran to the end zone.
- Maybe there should be more commentary about the teams we schedule. This is an Auburn problem as well. San Jose State is a cupcake. Florida Whatever is a cupcake. Asking Lamar to come over and play is a cupcake. Willie McNeese Nicole State is a cupcake. Eastern Michigan of West Lansing's Homicide Unit is a cupcake.
- Maybe commentators should only respond to big plays by SEC schools against cupcakes with "Well, Alabama is playing _________. Of course Amari Cooper is going to run for a 60 yard touchdown."
Florida
- I heard some ESPN goob say that Florida is the dark horse for the playoff. Yes, the team that went 4-8 last season, has the same coach, and a difficult schedule ahead of them is the dark horse. Was it their impressive ability to overcome adversity against Eastern Wisconsin Cheese Factory that gave you that impression?
Arkansas
- Another ESPN sludge head described Arkansas as VASTLY IMPROVED after their performance today. Yes, Arkansas really did a lot to make up for last week. They beat up some girl named Nicole. If only the NCAA was as tough on its teams as the NFL is on its players regarding domestic violence.
Ohio State and the Big 10
- And speaking of cupcakes: Ohio State sucks. So does the Big 10. Wisconsin is the only team left in the Big 10, and they have one loss. Michigan was beat 31-0 against Notre Dame. Nebraska needed some last second heroic by Ameer Medulla Oblongata to beat McNeese State. Michigan State couldn't handle the speed of Oregon. That's about it, right? Big 10 only has five teams, right?
Texas
- Saban to Texas! Do they fire Strong now? Knowing the arrogance of Texas, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Losing 41-7 to the mormons is a stinger. What's worse? NO ONE talking about it. Nothing on ESPN but a little blip. College football seems to be doing just fine without them though, so please everyone, refrain from the "CFB is better when Texas is good!" conversations.
Pat Haden
- And here is the issue with the college football playoff committee. This is the type of person they have on staff. If you didn't hear, Pat Haden ran down to the field from the press box to argue or chew out a ref. This is past Jerry Jones level of arrogance and control. This is someone who I personally do not want discussing my team when it comes to making important decisions. I further do not want this person talking to others who may discuss my team when it comes to discussing the college football playoff.
- Pat Haden hates Auburn. Does he not? I don't know for sure, but I know he's a hot head. I know that he is not balanced. I know he skirts the rules. I know he attempts to bully to get his way. I know some people have vendettas against programs. I know that if Pat Haden hates Auburn, I not know that Pat Haden will attempt to push Auburn out of the playoff unless he absolutely has to keep them in. But most likely, Pat Haden does not hate Auburn. He may hate your team though. Maybe you're a Notre Dame fan. Maybe you go to Stanford. UCLA. Either way, Haden should resign from the committee.
