38-10 at half. Mostly good. Nick still misses folks high but couple of dropsies from Melvin hurt. CAP is a bad ass of the 1st degree.

We needed that passing session for Nick.

Now if we can get JJ running the read option the second half...

We are blah. We tried to put the game on NM, he just is not sharp.

His reads are off. His throws are not as good as they should be.

I guess we are playing blah because of the opponent. But NM needed this game to hone his skills. I did not see a lot if honing. JJ can hand off to CAP.

We need Nick sharp like last season. Our D is still suspect!

I loved the last TD, but we KNOW Nick can do that. He needs more work on the pass.

Luckily we have two of the best WRs In the country in Duke and Sammie, after that it seems to be a crapshoot. Like leftovers from the towel era. If the ball don't hit you in the gut, no reason to catch it. Well NM is not a gut passer. I'll be glad to get Sammie back.

I'll say it.
Nick is a master at the zone read. No human near the city of Auburn could even be in position to fumble it through the endzone with that effort...expelled effort, which the guy exerts and that takes a toll on his passing form, timing etc.
I'm not saying he doesn't need more work, that's obvious. I seriously doubt he's going to be much over a 60% passer and I'm also grateful we have two very good playmaking receivers with quality depth.

My biggest question moving forward is about the defensive backfield. We have extreme speed at safety, I get the reasoning behind that. But we aren't communicating on top of the poor corner play.  I can't help thinking there's this seniority or pecking order thing that might be preventing us from getting the best out there...even a true freshman that would require more attention to get game ready.

He was a master at the read option last season with Tre. I think there is a much different dynamic with CAP.

It's gonna take a few more games to refine like last year. And that's cool cause CAP is already a beast.

When this thing gets cranking like last season...

Anyone remember seeing the offensive plays tonight? Well, y'all should because it was nearly identical as the plays we ran against Arkansas...we also ran the same play around 20 times.

Pellini escaped again.
And then there is poor ol' Brady Hoke. Big Blue faithful might want him buried alive behind the golden dome.
