One of the worst songs I've ever heard
« on: August 20, 2014, 09:00:34 AM »
Taylor Swift really has very little talent.  She proves that without a doubt with her new song "Shake It Off."

It may be the worst 'real' song I've ever heard.  And by real I mean one promoted by a label and pushed on the radio.  It makes Katy Perry's 'Birthday' which was god AWFUL sound like a classic.

On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk

I had a 23 year old tell me it sounded like a vulture raping a walrus.

Sounds right up the alley of today's youth and their musical tastes.

Nope. This.

I must compliment you on the picture thingy. But I think that in the description below, you need to switch the words "fantastic" and "horrendous"...if you are truly going for accuracy.

Nope. This.

Are those major label "Stars"?  Because I've never heard of them.  Even still that song is a billion times better than the thing Taylor Swift is doing.  It's Hindenburg bad.

Also heard two Katy Perry songs today.  "Birthday" and "How We Do"  They sucked pus-laden cancerous balls.  Absolutely horrible.  She's pretty and I like to look at her, but I truly think her 15 minutes of singing fame are completely used up.  She cannot sing at all.  And the songs are shit-tacular.

Meh. I just heard the song.

I mean, it's shit, but what do you expect when a pop-country singer does a self-proclaimed "straight pop" album?

I mean, music sucks today.

Here's another example:

Not only is it a shitty song on its own merits, it is a complete rip-off both lyrically and melodically of Icona Pop's "I Love It".

Everyone probably knows what song I'm talking about, but just in case:

And it's not a sample, or a tribute, or an interpolation. It's just a lift.

Honestly, the worst part about it is that my wife who is 28 will only listen to this kind of music.  And because of this my kids, boys included now listen to this crap.  It's cute and funny with my daughters, but the boys!  It kills me.

There was a female group on SNL (8-23-2014) that was abso-fucking-lutely horrible. I can't even begin to place it in a genre.
