Who in that vehicle had as much to lose as Mincy.  For him to be taking the rap for someone else in the vehicle, that has no prospect of being a starter for a possible national championship team would only prove that he was stoned out of his grape.

Yes, I believe division 1 has random testing for 3rd string and below.

I agree...especially when other HC's in the conference tend to be much softer while Auburn by some mystery is being goaded publicly to do real harm to a young man's future for a non-violent incident.
I can picture the cop engaging the driver and then shining his light and chuckling when he sees Mincy covered in shake looking like a Chia Pet.

According to witnesses on the scene, when the arresting officer shined his flashlight toward Mincy and saw the green leaves on his shirt, he reportedly said, "Rowww Tahd".
