This sounds kind of cool - teachers in schols with low income students give a list of projects or other items they would like to have for their classrooms/students, etc.  SI and Stuart Mandel (yes, i know he can be a tool) are sponsoring a Conference Showdown - you can choose a project and make a donation to this group and your conference gets the credit.  The Big 10+1 is currently ahead - but the SEC is in second.  i found a great project and donated - all tax deductible!!
