Clearly, listening to Spann's infinite meteorological wisdom and scoffing at the idea of preparation in the face of disaster is a good idea.

I lost a lot of respect for James Spann today. He's been on air telling viewers that we shouldn't be upset about their wrong forecast. That we should move on.

He was way off. This is an epic disaster, and it makes the state look bad. Children are trapped at school. Some kids are trapped on buses. One bus overturned. Numerous wrecks. Thousands of people trapped on roadways and the wind chill is below ten.

Took me 4-1/2 hours to get about 23 miles home...my pops has been on Hwy 280 for over 4 hours he said and has moved 3 miles so far. Light dusting my ass!

My wife's stuck 30 minutes away on a normal drive. She'll be sleeping at work tonight. I have the baby. And this morning he realized that screaming at the top of his lungs is awesome fun.

Took me from 11:00am until 3:30pm to get from Leeds/Bass Pro Shop area home to Gardendale. The wife tried leaving her work on Lakeshore next to Samford at 10:30 and ended up having to go back to work to spend the night.
