In all honesty, what I think happened is they had all the recruits over for dinner, then the kids went out with their hosts or whatever, and the parents all got drunk together.
Maybe a gray area in terms of legality, but if it were Auburn it most certainly would be reported in a negative fashion, I would bet my mortgage it would be notified of at least secondary violations.
Seems to me the NFL stars at the party is a violation. I thought only school staff members and faculty are allowed to have contact with a recruit during an official visit. Boosters cannot. Former players, currently in the NFL are defined as boosters.
I guess the infuriating part is that it's not even considered, for one second, that it could be a violation. No one gives a shit. Let Auburn do some shit like that. Let Malzahn have a party at his house with Cam Newton, and hell, Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Payton Hillis, and any other NFL star with connections to Malzahn. Let him get everyone drunk at the same recruiting party. Let's see how the media reacts to that. I'm sure exactly the same. I'm sure it'd be nothing more than chuckles about what a good time it seemed like they were having.
