AUBURN, Ala. -- Tre Mason was named the Southeastern Conference offensive player of the year and Gus Malzahn was named the coach of the year by the Associated Press on Monday.

Mason has rushed for 1,621 yards and 22 touchdowns this season. Malzahn has led Auburn to a 12-1 record, the SEC title and a berth in the BCS Championship Game against Florida State.

Mason was a unanimous selection to the SEC first-team offense. Offensive tackle Greg Robinson and defensive end Dee Ford were also first-team selections. Earning second-team honors from Auburn were center Reese Dismukes, tight end C.J. Uzomah, cornerback Chris Davis. Named to the honorable mention team were quarterback Nick Marshall, punter Steven Clark, safety Robenson Therezie and defensive tackle Gabe Wright.

Missouri's Michael Sam was named the defensive player of the year and Arkansas' Alex Collins was named freshman of the year.

If mason comes back next year he should be the early favorite for the Heisman.

I'm honestly disappointed neither of the kickers were first team. Clark was one of the best punters I've ever seen at pinning people deep and he rarely had a kick returned.  Bama's freaking punter being first team is an absolute joke.  He punted 15 fewer times than Clark and had the ninth best total in the league.  His average was 47.5, but so what?  That's certainly not the only stat that matters.

Also think that having both Cunillijo and Steen on the first team offensive line is asinine.  Unless you're looking for the "all holding all the time" team, those two have no business there.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
