Pride goeth...
« on: November 26, 2013, 01:42:42 PM »
We know what pride goeth before, but what about arrogance?  What doth it precede?

Look around at the arrogance.

They're posting sports nation polls and laughing at states where Auburn is the projected winner.

They truly think they simply cannot be beaten, and certainly not by some inferior little gimmick from Auburn.

I'm getting fake sympathy from random Bama fans, talking about "our good little run."

It's not a matter of whether they'll win but by how much. We should be happy with just being competitive. We rarely are, you know.

They're already thinking past us, the SEC-CG and on to Pasadena.

Do these idiots not realize that our schedule was infinitely tougher than theirs? That we pimp slapped similar opponents by similar margins with the exception of LSU?  That the LSU they faced was NOT the same LSU we did?

The last time I saw this kind of hubris, Tre Williams went off.  The more of it I see, the more I believe we can do it.  Nobody's invincible.

Let's look at the possibilities for Bama.  They should be favored over every team they play, throughout the season and from here on out.  Rolling 11 deep with 5* players at every position and coached by the exalted midget.  One of the big differences is that from here, if they play like they have in several games this year, VT, Colorado State, MSU...even Ole Miss....the opponent will beat them.  Play anything close to that and Auburn gets them.  Missouri could if AU doesn't....and FSU would smack that ass around.

They're damn good, but not invincible by any means.

@RickKarle: McCarron: "I like playing on the road so you quiet the crowd & you look @ 'em and they're in tears."

Yep.  And The Roundtable acted like this is just taken out of context.  And Barrett Jones tried to say that "Never Again" wasn't really about Auburn.

Also, like K said, everything I've heard from them and the state media (them) is that this game won't even be close.  Anytime they mention the possibility of Auburn keeping it close, they throw in a "Well it also could be a 35-10 type of game but IF Auburn can keep it close...."

Other things I've heard -

- We haven't seen a punt returner like Christion Jones and he'll probably take one back.
- Their receivers are much deeper than Georgia's, and since McCarron has won more NCs that Murray, it means he's going to pass all day against us.
- Yeldon is twice as good as Gurley, so don't expect to hold him under 100 yards.
- Yeldon and Mason's stats are exactly the same, but Mason's season is being lauded because no one expects those kind of numbers from Auburn (exactly the same except Mason has 130 more yards and five more touchdowns)
- Auburn's only beaten really bad defenses

Ass-raping bama for four quarters without climaxing would be a fitting end to the regular season for me. WDE!

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Gurley is the most electrifying RB in the league when healthy. And we faced him healthy. And I personally think Murray is a better qb.

SEC Common Opponents

AU:    24       UA:  20
MSU:  20       MSU:  7

LSU:  35        UA:  38
AU:    21       LSU:  17

AU:  30          UA:  25
OM:  22         OM:   0

AU:      45       UA:  49
TA&M:  41     TA&M: 42

AU:  35           UA:  52
Ark:  17          Ark:   0

AU:   55          UA:  45
UT:   23          UT:   10

Auburn scored 43 on Georgia while UA hung 48 on Kentucky.  Auburn's scoring has picked up significantly as the season has gone on.  Defensively, we still have too many spurts of sucktitude so IMO, that's where the biggest difference comes in and we'll need some help in the way of some turnovers and/or penalties.  Home field should bridge the gap a bit....unless AJ stares at us and makes us all cry.

True, but UGA did not have the same talent surrounding tmen like Yeldon and mcTattoo has. They don't really have to be that good at bammer. If we can win enough of the battles up front, we can win.

Just keep it close. I think our destiny is stronger than theirs this year.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

From an LSU fan:

"Just a one dimensional team.  Couldn't run on LSU until we had our fourth string in there. Won't get 50 yards on Bama."

And here's the kicker to me:  "You just keep on running because you can't pass."

No, that's the one thing EVERYBODY is missing.  We run because it works.  We will continue to run until somebody stops us from running.  Tennessee put nine in the box. We ran.  Georgia sent seven and eight. We ran.

Malzahn will continue to do what works until it doesn't work any more. Then he'll try it a time or two more just to make sure.  And then we'll do something different. Before we confuse them by going back to what works again.

Also from an LSU fan:
"It's smoke and mirrors. Nothing but trick plays and gadgets.  Won't score on Alabama running reverse passes and hidden ball tricks all night long."

Right.  Because that's what we've done all year.  That one-dimensional offense that only runs, also excels at gimmicks.

Also from an LSU fan:
"Blah, blah had 150 yards in the first quarter. It wasn't the rain. Les just felt sorry for them and let them hang around.  If he had any balls LSU would have scored 80 and put an end to this fantasy."

Bama Bob nodding along with every word like it's the gospel.

Their day is coming.

What you are failing to recognize is that Stallings has already addressed this. Schemes (code for coaching) doesn't win foosball games. The best players (Bama's) do. Apparently, there is really no need for us to play this game.

Apparently the LSU fan is getting Auburn and uat confused. Everytime LSU plays against uat or Auburn, uat is the one to pull out the gimmicks and tricks...fake punts, fake field goals, flea flickers, reverse passes, the oopty oop, etc.
