When talking college foosballz, every sports talk show has now started making the inevitable rock solid predictions on who is going to play for the MNC. Just saw an article that said 7 SI writers predicted a Bama/Oregon (They're just so fast) match up. Seems to be the popular pick among the "experts". Could happen. Who knows? But first off, unless I missed it, the first BCS poll hasn't been released. Second, and more importantly, we're only half way through the season. Now, it is completely possible I missed the BCS poll being released, but just for argument's sake, let's look at the current AP Poll and assume the BCS will mirror pretty close at this point. Top 5 are undefeated.
1. Alabama
2. Oregon (TJSF)
3. Climpsum
4. theOSU
5. FSU
6. LSU 6-1
7. TAMU 5-1
8. Louisville 6-0
9. UCLA 5-0
10. Miami 5-0
11. Sakerlina 5-1
Let's add into the mix that in just about every single year, there comes a couple of Saturday nights in mid and late November where the college foosballz world gives a collective, "What the F just happened?" I have a strong feeling this year will be no exception. So, what are some scenarios you see playing out? I say, IF.....
Auburn beats #7 TAMU, Top 25 Georgia, #1 Alabama and wins the SECCG to finish 12-1 with the only loss being on the road to LSU, we play for the MNC. Now to be honest, I haven't slept in 2 nights and smoked some good Columbian on the way to work this morning and have been doing tekwila shooters at my desk since 8:30. So cut me some slack on this one.
IF...the winner of this weekend's FSU/Fighting Dabos match up goes undefeated the rest of the way, there is no way in hayull Oregon (TJSF) goes over either one. Oregon has played no one and the only "real" game left on their schedule is a team that just lost to Utah. Clemson would have wins over Georgia, FSU, Sakerlina and the opponent in the ACCCG. FSU would have beaten Dabo, Florida, Miami and the ACCCG opponent. Frick the Ducks...even though they're just so fast.
IF...LSU beats Bama and wins out, including the SECCG...Bama will play Oregon (TJSF) in the MNCG.
