The US men's relay team just stunned those trash talking frenchie fuckers... ("we're going to smash the Americans...")... Phelps gets Gold #2... French lose again... but then they are used to that by now...

I was bouncing up and down in my chair and screaming under my breath (didn't want to wake the kids!) - I have never gotten so fired up for swimming - but that was awesome.

Great race! Out touched the wall by 1/300 of a second for the win. He was down half a body length with only one 50 meter leg to go. Amazing. The look on the french team's faces as soon as it was over was sheer perfection.

The french anchor swimmer and 100m freestyle world record holder (who lost the race for them in the end....which makes it that much more sweet...), was quoted last year "What Americans? We are going to smash the Americans", referring to the race they lost last night.

The American team had set a world record in the qualifying round. The French team basically said it did not matter because they would win. We came from behind and took over the lead with about 10' to go.

I just watched Phelps get another gold. That dude is unreal. I think he has dolphin skin or something. Maybe amphibious, whatever it is, he makes everyone else look like n00bs

He is just one of those people, like Lance Armstrong, who have that particular physiology that makes them uniquely qualified to excel in a particular sport. They were both fortunate to find their niche. I know I was meant to be a prima ballerina, because I like to walk on my toes, but I prefer Chips Deluxe cookies instead.
