Tubs biggest problem -he was tired of dealing with the likes of Jay Jacobs and his bullshit cronies.

He was done, you could tell, his heart wasn't in Auburn football anymore.  He got lazy/tired at the wrong damn time with the midget coming in.   The current situation we are in has nothing to do with Coach Tuberville though.

A-fucking-men.

Agree, as far as direct responsibility goes. Things reach tipping points and momentum seems to take over with recruting (i.e. we were RB university). We've had a good stretch at LB in the past, especially under Dye.

My point, which I didn't make clear, is that LB started to deteriorate at the end of Tubbs and continued through Chiz.

It hasn't been a strong position in a long time and Ellis is stuck because of it.

I still disagree with you...overall recruiting went down over Tubs and we had a hard time getting quality players, but even in Tubs final year our defense kept us in games. (save for the Alabama game).

No Tubs wasn't perfect but the defensive side of the ball was always strong while he coached us.

This one is squarely on Gene and his crew.

Is there a way we can disagree with some of a post , but still like and respect the overall opinion? I am not seeing that function anywhere. Can we put that on the nice to have list mods?

I think that's a great idea. Also the "I think your crazy as bat shit button" and the "meh" button. Those two would probably get the most use.

Go fuck yourself button FTW.  It would wear a hole in the internet from all the people clicking on it.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

He started the ball rolling on the downhill slide at the least. I can't remember a recruit other than Bynes (he was our best in this time but slow compared to years past) since 07 that was high impact at LB.  Eltoro? Harry Adams? Spencer Pybus?

We lost out on recruits and didn't make much headway with the ones that we did get was my point.
Harry Adams was a slot receiver/CB.

He was listed as  LB on the recruits listing that Scout put out, so silly me.
