Superman and Batman Together

So Zack Snyder confirmed that the Man of Steel sequel will have Batman.

I never read comic books growing up, so I don't really know how this will work.  In fact, I can't picture it working.  Superman is capable of throwing locomotives through buildings and is so powerful that when he takes off too quickly to fly across the earth, he leaves a crater behind him.  Not to mention he has lasers that shoot from his eyes. 

There's no need for Batman.  In a world with god-like superheroes, Batman becomes retired.

How could Batman possibly beat Superman?  Kryptonite?  I was hoping the new Superman series would stay away from the easy way out with Kryptonite.
