It's symptomatic of the nightmarish conditions facing sex workers since Germany legalized prostitution in 2002. The country's 3,000 brothels typically compete for the market (an estimated 1 millon men a day) by dropping prices and importing Romanians and Bulgarians — some of whom say they were forcibly trafficked. Sex tours lead penny-pinching johns from America, Asia and the Middle East around Germany to enjoy the discounts. In documentary "Sex: Made in Germany," a Danish john summed it up: "Germany is the biggest whorehouse in Europe, no question."
