This morning, our local talk show host was saying how amazing it was that no one wanted to talk about either situation. He said we have one school with a former player indicted for point shaving and the other with a player accused of kidnapping a child and nobody is calling about either one. He made a good point in saying this should be a talk show host's dream but unfortunately, it's basketball and nobody around here gives a rip. So he brought Bryan Matthews on to talk AU recruiting.
That's the rub. I'm pretty sure we have talked the Ward situation to death for 15 months.
It was certainly newsworthy, but Auburn was the
victim of a point shaving scandal. Yet, the media, predictably, attempted to spin it as an "Auburn problem". Auburn blew the whistle on Ward. Yet, again, that's a black eye.
A current player fucking kidnapping a 6 year old girl is not worthy of getting printed? At all? And the Ward thing, that has been talked to death for over a year is front page worthy? That's beyond asinine and is, in my opinion, indisputable proof that the Alabama sports media has a clear bias at best, active agenda at worst.
