I hate Freddi Gonzales, and I worry about the future with him and the huge contracts we owe to our worst starting players. Good news though, Gattis and Chris Johnson looked great at the plate in the series. Hopefully both will carry over to next season.
I expect McCann to be gone this year and Gattis take over behind the dish. Agree on Chris Johnson. He wasn't someone who had a hot streak. He was consistent all season long. Never waivered from that .320 to .333 range. The BJ and Cho....err, Uggla thing is a huge problem. Uggla has now had what...3 years of complete and utter fail at the plate. One year, I can understand. 3 years? Hopeless. BJ obviously had a horrible year and the thing that worries me is he looked so overmatched all year long. He looks like he weighs 135 soaking wet and swings like a high schooler against major league pitching. He just can't have completely lost it after doing what he's done in the past.
Priority One: New...PROVEN hitting Corch.
Priority TWO: Go get some starting pitching. I think it spoke volumes that after Hudson went down, the Braves did what they've been doing for seemingly the last 10 years. Nothing. Remember the Braves run during the 90's and well into 2000? They always went out and at least TRIED to get that other piece of the puzzle. Not just talking about pitching here but from Marquis Grissom to Fred McGriff to Kenny Loftin to Greg Maddox etc. they went and got what they thought they needed. Why the hell would we be throwing Freddy Garcia in the game that meant the entire season? So, they threw Medlen, Minor, Wood and Garcia at the Dodgers? (I think that was the rotation) Would that scare the Gwinnett Braves? Jake Peavy was out there. Nope, he's pitching for the Sox...who are moving on to the ALCS.
