As a final indignity perpetrated on the passengers of the disabled Triumph cruise ship after it reached port last night, a bus ferrying tired and disheveled tourists back to their homes broke down halfway to New Orleans this morning.

Following four days trapped aboard a "floating petri dish" without power, air conditioning, or fresh water, the Carnival Cruise Line passengers finally made it back to land on Thursday night, except they ended up in Mobile, Alabama — about 500 miles away from the trip's starting point in Galveston, Texas.

So the passengers disembarked around 1:00 a.m., and many of them boarded buses to return to Galveston. (After sharing their stories with CNN, of course.) Anna Werner of CBS News reports that at least one of the buses in the caravan broke down on the way to New Orleans, stranding the unlucky riders yet again. Hopefully, they were able to have a good laugh about a rather fitting end to their worst vacation ever.

No AC, not running water, had to shit in plastic bags (ugghh, no where to dig a hole), other than that, they got a refund plus a discounted future cruise. And, they got to see the Alabama port with all of the niceties that Alabama has to offer. Like low fucking wages and cheap hotel rooms. Room service without clothing and the smell of burning green and white liquor.

Can't you read?  There was no fresh water.  They were forced to drink rum and pineapple juice for 4 days.  One poor man was forced to mix his Maker's Mark with luke warm delicious coke product.  Damn, you are one insensitive bastard.

In todays world what they went through would be consider tough.

I would look at it as extra vacation with a free trip later on. But then again I have craped in places that my crap made the place better.

Like I told someone earlier, most people's lives are so dull that they never have anything to tell about their life. These people now have a story to tell for the rest of their lives.

Well, Mobile looked good while the corporate whore (Carnival) looked like shit.

Rusty Adkins and the rest of his family arrived in Mobile on Thursday morning, and Adkins couldn't say enough about how well they were treated by convention center employees, police and other Mobilians while waiting for the ship to arrive.

"They've done won a Yankee's heart," he said. "They provided refreshments, coffee, and hot food. They did exceptional. They were keeping us more informed than Carnival was. "

Adkins added that a police officer personally escorted him to the port and showed him where to park.

"He was such a gentleman," Adkins said.

Adkins was so impressed with the Port City's talent for giving folks the royal treatment that he just may become a regular visitor.

"I plan on coming back to the city just to be here," he said. "It's a nice city. They've been very sweet to us."

Actually, that build is better than the LCS2 because the LCS2 hasn't done shit. It has yet to go on a mission anywhere. Poor engineering, design and manufacturing. They're still trying to work out the kinks. China has us beat on this one so far. I don't mess with 'em anymore, last thing I did was emulation for General Dynamics.

I had to carry things around my neck for a while.

I love the look of those old tin cans. I served a lot of time on Spruance and Arleigh Burke Class destroyers, and loved every minute of it, but I would have given anything to go to sea on a WWII destroyer or a battleship.
