I've said many times that I liked CTT.  He did his share of playing Auburn while he was here but hell, every coach does.  It's part of the game.  Even Brian Kelley is suddenly interviewing with the Eagles.  Anyone see an even bigger/bettah new contract heading his way?  This isn't about contracts but in my view, Tuberville increasingly looks like a dumbass with each passing year.  Whether he wanted these kids or not...you make the call.  From the AJC

Tommy Tuberville has made a habit of miffing players who committed to Cincinnati while Butch Jones was coach, causing at least three players to rescind their commitments from the Bearcats.

First, there was Kyle Kempt, an Ohio quarterback who had planned on sticking with Cincinnati instead of following Jones to Tennessee, where he had also been recruited. But Tuberville began offering other quarterbacks in his class, causing the quarterback to change his mind and his coach to ban Cincinnati coaches from his high school.

Now, there's two more: defensive back Demetrius Monday said Tuberville's coaching staff never contacted him in the month since the coach left Texas Tech to take the Cincinnati job. When Monday's family reached out to the program this week, the team told him the high school senior should "look other places," causing him to decommit Thursday. His father spoke to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

"The thing is, we've talked to some other kids committed to Cincinnati. They say the same thing, that they haven't heard from the staff. Basically (Tuberville) isn't calling anybody, he's trying to get the kids to de-commit on their own.

"It's a bad situation."

Jaleel Canty, also a defensive back, had a similar story, requesting a conversation with the coach Thursday but being told he was busy and that the school didn't want him anymore.

It's not clear whether Tuberville plans to keep any of the players who made their commitment under Jones. Tuberville has brought in seven players since coming to Cincinnati, but there are still nine players recruited by Jones who have yet to decommit.

Seven players is not a full class, and there's only a few weeks before signing day. It would seem Tuberville shouldn't burn bridges with his remaining recruits, but there's no indication he's been on good terms with anybody since coming to the Bearcats.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

I heard this on the radio a bit ago and don't know where the host was reading from, but he was quoting other players who said they had offers months ago from numerous schools, including some SEC schools.  Now, they have a few weeks left to try and get with a program.

My take on Tubs in a nutts(I have them) shell

Loved the hire when they announced.  Followed him at OM and was impressed with what he did and how he handled himself in interviews and his post game shows.  Loved how he turned the AU program around and made it competitive quickly.  And it was definitely in the shitter when he got there.

I wasn't on board with the haters in 03' and thought he just needed to make the right assistant hires. 04' was bad ass and he deserved a ton of credit for it. That's when the little chinks (Racist bastard) in the armor started to show.  Maybe a bad analogy but from there, it seemed to be a series of things that kept building on each other.

His rant against ESPN and their bias was spot-the-hell-on.  He even went on the air with Dan Patrick, who ripped him a new one, but CTT held his own and said what needed to be said.  And he was our coach so I defended him.  But in the back of my mind, I was going, "Yeah, he's our coach.  Why did it have to be our coach that called the monster out?"  We've consistently screamed bias in ESPN's AU reporting over the past years. Hmmm...wonder if that little episode could have ruffled some feathers at the 4-letter network?

Over the next 4 years, his program had far more success than not...but each and every year we took another step back, until we stepped off the cliff in 08'.  It had also been growing painfully obvious that the fire was gone and it showed up in recruiting or lack thereof, more than any place else.  He and his staff got lazy while in the meantime, our biggest rival had sold their souls to Lord Saybinz...and he was starting to shove the process up our collective asses.  All the while, here was Tommy, playing Auburn each year for a bigger, better deal.

Since he left Auburn, he hasn't won too many people over, from fans to players to recruits....to the Federal Authorities.

o.k. Here's a question. You are a newly hired HC and you have half of your recruiting class in place when you sign the line. You don't want most of 'em. It's your ass on the line to get things turned around asap. Do you always keep the ones that already there or do you try to encourage them to walk?

Bump.  (haven't been on this weekend)

You, or your assistants, or somebody, calls them and let's them know if they still have an offer.  The problem for a lot of these guys is that they had offers from other schools and now, this close to signing date, they have to make the call and be informed by someone that Tommy is busy and they need to look elsewhere.

This I agree with.  Don't have to honor the previous staff's offer, but you should let them know one way or the other in a timely fashion.

He would leave Cincy in a pine box before that happened.
