Prolly posted elsewhere.  Just haven't seen it.  Saw this morning where Wayne Bolt took over as DC at Troy.  Jay Boulware will have his same special teams duties at Wisconsin. Kudos to both.

How so?  I mean I imagine he still knows how to.....wait....I see what you did there.

I did read where he was DC for 67 games at Troy and his defenses gave up an average of 290 yards per game.  Pretty damn impressive.  I do think he'll be facing a ton more wide open offenses than when he was there before.

AUBURN FOOTBALL: Malzahn names Al Pogue director of high school relations

Posted: Friday, January 11, 2013 4:08 pm

A week after completing his on-the-field coaching staff, Gus Malzahn named Al Pogue as his director of high school relations Friday afternoon.

Pogue spent the last two years at Auburn on Gene Chizik’s staff — first as Malzahn’s offensive quality control assistant in 2011 and then as special teams quality control assistant this past year.

Before coming to the Plains, Pogue spent 13 years coaching high school football in the state of Alabama, most recently as the head coach of Carver-Montgomery (2008-10).

“I’m very blessed and excited for this opportunity and look forward to continuing to build relationships with the high school coaches in our state and beyond,” Pogue said in a released statement. “As a former high school coach, I take great pride in this position and understand the importance of my role. I’m very appreciative to Coach Malzahn and look forward to helping him get this program back to a championship level.”

Pogue will also oversee Auburn football’s summer camps and clinics.

“Al was a successful high school coach in this state, which makes him a great fit for the position,” Malzahn said. “He is well respected among high school coaches and will do a great job strengthening relationships with coaches as well as raising the level of our camps and clinics.”

While at Carver, Pogue helped lead the Wolverines to the program’s first-ever undefeated regular season in 2008. He was the head coach at St. Jude High School from 2006-07, after serving as the defensive coordinator for Sidney Lanier High School (2003-05).

Pogue’s first head coaching position was at Calhoun High School in Lowndes County in 2002. He began his coaching career defensive backs at Lee High School (1998-01).

As a college football player at Alabama State from 1993-96, Pogue was a three-year starter at free safety, earning All-America and All-SWAC honors.
