Has it been announced if we will have a designated QB coach or will Gus Bus do that himself?

I'll hang up and listen...

I believe Gus and and Rhett share that responsibility, which concerns me. Maybe moreso Rhett than Gus because:

"He spent three years as Malzahn's quarterback at Shiloh Christian High School in Arkansas and has worked under him in the prep ranks and at three different colleges, including their initial stop in Auburn."

According to what Gus is saying, he's going to be the Head Coach.  His coaches will be responsible for the game planning, and play calling, within his philosophical model of course.  Gus said he wants to be able to go to the defensive practice fields and let them know he's there.  Feels like they need to see the HC too.  He refers to Lashlee as his right hand man, and I believe he trusts him to run the offense.  Obviously, Gus will always have veto power.  Those are the things he's saying.

And Gus has a lot of experience with Rhett.  I doubt Gus would give him that position if he had any reservations about his ability to run the offense effectively.

I do believe Gus in his statements. I'm sure he wants to establish a sense of accountability as well. I highly doubt, however, that ol Gus will be able to refrain from offensive play calling.

Wasn't Capn Rhett part of the Resurrection of Chris Todd? I seem to remember that being during his GA stint.

I'd be worried.  That fucking Malzahn has screwed up every QB he's ever coached.  He caused Barrett Trotter to quit for chrishakes.

One thing I know...KNOW....Gus trusts Lashlee.   My best bud called me the day Gus was hired to discuss who would be OC, DC, et.  I had no doubt the OC would be Lashlee.  They are like peas and carrots.  Whoever is "calling plays" it's the same thing.

Are you trying to say that there is an inappropriate relationship between our HC and OC? First, let me warn you that this is almost the 21st century. We should be more open minded toward this, assuming we at least rank in the top 10 to 15% in offense. :rimshot:

So it doesn't bother you that the guy calling the plays is a 29 year old who has never held a position of any kind (outside of GA) at the D-1 level?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Pat Sullivan hired him as OC at Samford in 2011, and then Gus took him to Ark. St. last year as OC.  He knows the offense, and what Gus wants to do.
