Auburn hoops thread

Alright folks, it's SEC tourney time. The Tigers open with TA&M. I think we can handle them pretty easily. The only team I see giving us any real problems is Florida. I just don't think we match up well. If they have a hot shooting night, the Gators could pull off the upset. Unlikely, but I've seen stranger things happen.

Do you think we'll get the #1 seed in the East or South Regional? It'd be a travesty to get sent out West. But, you know good and well there's a definite bias with most of the selection committee being a bunch of Yankees. Selection Sunday should be exciting.

We talked a bit about AU's recruiting for the upcoming season. Just went back and looked and unfortunately, there's absolutely nothing there that indicates anything will get better. They have 5 guys committed, 4 of which have signed their LOI. One guard has not. Of the 4....3 of them are 3 stars and one is unrated. One of the players signed is our incoming QB, Jeremy Johnson. The unsigned guard is a 3 star too.

Friday, JJacobs came out and gave Barbee the dreaded vote of confidence, saying they would work together to improve the program. I'm actually kind of numb or maybe just apathetic concerning our BB team. Is firing Barbee the answer? Looks like it. If these guys have signed LOI's, then we're stuck with them no matter who the corch is. They may turn out to be great players, but we have a 9-145 ball club and four 3-star guys coming in to turn it around.

I really don't give a fuck anymore. This is the first time in forever where I really don't even care about watching March Madness, either. Although by Thursday, that may change, this weekend is usually one of my favorite sports weekends, but after the football season, and then the basketball season... fuck college sports.

It's getting dangerously close to the point where being an Auburn fan is like being a Troy "fan".
