Add Blakely to the list. J Hoke is also reporting that Lutz is out today as well and may be done for the year.

Auburn TE Philip Lutzenkirchen says he’s out for season with hip injury

By Associated Press, Published: October 20

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen says a hip injury has ended his college career.

Lutzenkirchen posted on his Twitter page Saturday that he was “sad to say it is over at Auburn.”

Coach Gene Chizik said after the Tigers’ 17-13 loss at Vanderbilt that Lutzenkirchen’s senior season is over. Lutzenkirchen tweeted that his hip has been bothering him since fall camp “to the point where I was hurting the team for me to not play at 100%. Gave it all I had. Sorry.”

Lutzenkirchen’s 15 catches for 139 yards were second on the team. C.J. Uzomah started against Vandy for the 1-6 Tigers.

Lutzenkirchen’s 14 career touchdown catches is a record for Auburn tight ends.

Chizik says tackle Avery Young is also out for the season with an unspecified injury.

Are we sure he was talking about his time at Auburn?

The guy wasted a year and possibly hurt himself in the draft by coming back to play in this clustertruck.  Hate it for him.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Possibly? I'd say definitely.

If he had gone in the 2012 draft, he would have been one of the first TEs selected. This year? Highly doubt it.

I still say that he'll go to the combine if he's healthy enough.. perform well, and end up second or third round. I guess some of it depends on the extent of the injury/surgery/etc.

It disgusts me that we burned out a guy like this mostly blocking for this anemic offense. Top notch character though.. came back, gave it his all, and likely permanently impacted his professional career for a program in the shitter. That's the kind of guy that should have a bronze statue outside of a football stadium.

Who are the TE's this year coming out?

I don't blame the guy one bit, get healthy, ball out at the combines and make some of those famous Lutzy one handers, impress, get paid.
