I don't understand why this isn't being talked about more. Maybe it is and I am missing it, but it is crazy to me how a ref gets away with shit like this. Has Steve Shaw addressed this? Has the SEC addressed this? This goes beyond a missed call. This is giving a team a first down after 9 yards instead of 10. This is fixing the game. What the fuck?

Look back? Hell the SOB takes a small step, turns his foot sideways, looks back, and then places the ball IN FRONT of his foot.

As to the OP's question of, "why isn't this getting any pub?" The media knows better than to try to make an issue out of anything involving UAT. Weeman would cut off their limited access.

I dunno this seems kind of insignificant to me.

I am much more surprised by the lack of holding calls.

No calls on Bama holding has been going on for the last few years, I'm not surprised anymore.

Giving bammer an unearned first down seems insignificant?  I mean, hell, it's one thing to give a generous spot, but to "adjust it" after you've set your foot, while looking back to see where the marker is?  Come on!  And how many like this have gone unnoticed?

If that were a 4th down play with a tied score late in the 4th quarter, maybe I'm on board.

Conspiracy?  Perhaps not in the traditional sense.  There are ways to get the minions to buy in...cooperate without blatantly conspiring.  And though the conspiracy may have many people involved, all the participants may not know every other one of the other participants.

One thing I have noticed over the years is that when the game is in the air, those bastards get the benefit of the doubt on any call, spot, non-call, water bottle, dry football, goat fuck or bathroom line.  Then, to make things appear "even" they get calls against them once the game is in hand.  I realize I am wearing my super duper tinfoil hat and I hear a black helicopter circling the building as I type this, but that is what I have seen over the years.

Talk to someone that has followed Auburn football since the '60's and see what they say about the subject.

This doesn't have shit to do with whether he got the spot right and everything to do with:

This shit just looks wrong. He was responsible for marking the ball. He marked it...and then moved it up. He may have realized that he was wrong and tried to correct it, but the fucked up way in which he did looks like he is trying to move the spot up so that the first down is met.

I have never seen a ref move a spot up quite like that before...

I saw the refs move a spot back just like that in the 1994 Iron Bowl.
