Alright, pimp some obscure/relatively unknown music here (youtube videos exist for these bands...go find them yourself):

Islands - Return To The Sea
Existential Canadian Pop/Rock.
Video you should seek out: "Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby"

Lovage - Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By
Art/pop experiment of Dan The Automator, Mike Patton, Jennifer Charles and Kid Koala.  Great production (of course), Patton in an understated role and Charles' smoky voice make a disc for sexy time. :vn:
Video: "Sex (I'm A)"

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
Grimy NY hiphop from the master of stream of consciousness.  This disc finally shows that Ace can creates hooks and verses.
Videos: "Coffee" and "None Shall Pass"

Bargain Music - The Magic Is Over
Folky/reggae/rock from Long Beach, CA.  Josh Fischel has a great, strong voice and it's a shame that this band is kaput. 
Video: "Rock and Stone" (unfortunately not an album track)

Slightly Stoopid - Closer to the Sun
Stoned roots rockin punks.  Lots of dub reggae, lots of hip hop, and a dash of punk rock.  Fun summertime jams.
Video (tie): "Wiseman" and "Somebody"

Why? - Alopecia
Art rock with some hip hop influence.  Complex and dense, this requires some time to digest.  In the end, you'll be glad you did.

Actually the story is better than that.  He was drunk in LAX.   Now knowing all that how fucking helpless is the woman ( or anyone for that matter) to have the shit beat out of you by a one armed drunk guy?
