MOBILE, Alabama -- Alabama commitment and Spanish Fort receiver Deon "D.J." Johnson has been arrested and charged with first-degree rape.

Johnson, 19, is being held without bond at the Baldwin County Corrections Center's in Bay Minette, according to the online jail log.

This is his second arrest less than a month. He was also arrested Sept. 6 and charged with second-degree rape and second-degree sodomy.

Spanish Fort coach Mark Freeman did not immediately return a phone message.

"It was not related whatsoever to the first case," Daphne Police Lt. Jud Beedy said. "It was a new victim. She contacted another law enforcement agency, and they referred her to us. We've been pursuing it for a few weeks with the District Attorney's Office and the Department of Human Resources. We discovered enough evidence to get a warrant for his arrest."

Daphne Police arrested Johnson Tuesday afternon at Spanish Fort High, and he was transferred to the county jail in Bay Minette today.

Beedy declined to release the victim's name, place of residence or the place of the incident, because she is a juvenile.

Johnson, a four-star prospect, has remained a student at Spanish Fort since his first arrest and has been eligible to play football. He did not play in victories over B.C. Rain and Gulf Shores, but returned to the field last week in a victory over Faith Academy. He is ranked No. 9 on the A-List, which is al.com's listing of the state's top senior football prospects.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound senior scored 19 touchdowns during his junior season and committed to Alabama over the summer.

No joke - I heard someone on the 97.3 morning show this morning say that we still don't know the details.  That forcible rape is horrible, but we don't know if it was just with a girl that was 12 years old.  And 12 year old girls look different than they did a long time ago. 

Sentell has nothing to say about it other than a lie.  If he were truthful, he'd say, "If the kid can help Alabama win championships, I don't care if he's raping babies."

One of our local sports talk guys in the morning is a former Bama beat writer.  He can't help himself.  In relaying this story this morning, it went like this:

"Now, we don't know exactly what he ALLEGEDLY did and we're not sure who the ALLEGED vicitms are.  It sounds like it could be serious but we just don't know about these ALLEGED incidents. Nick Saban has always been very secretive about how he handles matters so we're not sure if they'll back off his recruitment or not or if they'll just sit back and see how these charges play out concerning these ALLEGED incidents."
