The Biggest Reason...
« on: September 24, 2012, 10:34:04 AM »
that this staff had better get this thing turned around...attendance.  As was pointed out, the announced attendance at the game Saturday was about 700 short of capacity.  I think it was more than that and admittedly but surprisingly, about half the missing were LSU fans.  Think about it.  The #2 team in the nation and one of your biggest rivals coming in.  6:00 p.m. start....national audience..and the stadium is not full?  No need to hash out all the reasons...we suck and all that.  But think about what the attendance for Arkansas will be.  Think it will be anywhere near full? If we're 1-3 and couldn't fill it up for LSU, no way we're remotely close to capacity for Arky.

That's money lost for ticket sales.  Money lost for the vendors at the game.  Money lost for the City of Auburn and surrounding areas.  This is not a fire Chizik thread.  Just stating the obvious that unless the product on the field improves, attendance will continue to suffer and bigger losses in overall revenue will be where the pressure comes from. Anyone ever thought you'd see the day when a West rival ranked #2 would come into JHS at night...and the stadium not filled to capacity?

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

That was not a money lost for ticket sales.  The tickets were sold.

Now the vendors did not get to sell as many $8 cups of ice but the university got theirs on the tickets.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I have stated what it cost me to come to games, but after last year and the cluster fuck that is this year will make me think long and hard about spending that kind of cash next year to see what I see on  the field.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

Concessions is how they feel it.  And that's a shitload of money, or money lost.

Not to mention money for outside vendors. Restaurants-hotels-grocery stores and such.

Men laying their trick-money down. Twenty dollars for a ticket? Maybe not. Maybe instead I'll spend it on the whore.

$20.00 whore?  Sometime you need to spend the extra money and upgrade, maybe even go full keen.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.
