Don't really see the harm there.  Wasn't Bates' fault and the game was about to get out of control.  That's what assistant head coaches are supposed to be for.  It's not like he stood between them while Chizik ranted.  I think he was pretty much done anyway.

With Troop being the Asst HC I would agree. I take it he acts as a buffer at times when things get heated. Chiz was ripping Bates for something he didn't even do. I think Troop was trying to prevent it from escalating any further knowing what really happened.

All that said, that was a HUGE bullshit call. We suck anyway, but still it was a bullshit call.

WE quit listening to the media on this one.  K is correct.  Chizik must not have seen the play, Bates fell on Russel while trying to get off of him.  Had Chizik seen the play he would have been screaming at the ref.  while I love to see a coach getting fired up and teaching on the field, he was wrong on this one.  I have a feeling that the penalty in the red zone was what sparked the anger, but it was a BS call.
