Mississippi State on Thursday confirmed an ongoing NCAA investigation into "potential recruiting violations." The school said the investigation is "nearing an end" and it will cooperate fully.

Wide receivers coach Angelo Mirando resigned Sunday, less than two weeks before the season opener against Jackson State, in the wake of an ongoing NCAA investigation related to his recruitment of at least one player on the Bulldogs' roster.

On Sunday, a statement released by the school said Mirando resigned due to "unforeseen personal issues." In the statement Mirando said, "It is in my best interest to resign from Mississippi State." He also said he wanted to "stress that these issues are personal."

The Bulldogs hired former Minnesota coach Tim Brewster to fill Mirando's position, a source told ESPN earlier Thursday.

Mirando was a graduate assistant under head coach Dan Mullen for two seasons before becoming a full-time assistant in 2011.

Brewster was fired as Minnesota coach in 2010 after going 15-30 with the Gophers, including 6-21 in the Big Ten. He had agreed earlier this month to become an analyst with the CBS Sports Network.

CoachingSearch.com had earlier reported Brewster was headed to Mississippi State.

ESPN college football reporter Brett McMurphy contributed to this report.

I have seen the name Will Redmond thrown around on other boards.  4* kid out of Memphis from last year.

Let's not forget what the kerfuffle surrounding the recruitment of one Cameron Jarrell Newton was actually about.

And, by the way, NOW is the idea that MSU coaches & boosters, not Cecil, put the offer on the table so ridiculous?

The NCAA is looking into the 7-on-7 camps too. The invesigation started when the NCAA looked into Jovon Robinson's grades and they uncovered recruiting violations from the Memphis area, not involving Jovon. ”This could affect multiple SEC teams, reaching into the State of Alabama”. former uat WR Keiwone Malone (processed) was from Memphis & he was part of the 7-on-7 camps in Memphis. Also, there were 7-on-7 camps in Tuscaloosa the past two years.

Over on Tigerdroppings, Miss State fans are claiming we're part of the investigation too.  Miss State and Auburn together like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Auburn was cleared in the Cam-gate scandal, I'd leave it at that.

MSU hates the fact that they are the a-hole of the SEC West, that they are UK and Vandy rolled into one shite sandwich. They lash out wanting to be noticed, and get their vaginas hurt when the bigger guy bitch slaps them back into the corner where they belong. It would be the same as if UK or Vandy started talking non-stop shite to the Gators. After enough is enough, they would need to be knocked back into their rightful place...which is what is happening now. It's not a rivalry...think of it as a behavioral correction and we're jerking a knot in our child's ass.

That's funny shit right there.  :classic:

Sounds to me there are still a lot of butthurt mutts over losing Cam Newton to Auburn. This will be another failed attempt by folks of MSU and will also further hurt their program more than it already is.

Apparently Mullen got tired of Schad fucking his wife:

Quote

Mirando resigned over the weekend for “personal reasons” before the story really popped. Ornery Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen was asked about Schad’s report and had this to say to reporters:

“I would try to get a little more reliable source than Joe Schad,” Mullen said. “I’m supposed to be coaching at State College, I guess, right now, too, according to Joe Schad last year. Wasn’t that the case?”

Apparently Mullen got tired of Schad fucking his wife:
That friendship between Shad and the Mullens ended when he accidentally said that he'd spoken with Megan Mullen, after he'd talked about his ”source close to the situation”....everyone knew at that second that Megan was his source. Guessing she wanted to stay anonymous, no AD likes the wives of the coaches to gossip at hair salons much less to ESPN reporters.

Correction...

Also, here's one with him on a recruiting trip for the 2010 Iron Bowl, with a certain player that we know...

And of course one of him and Coach midget...it's always good to know which boosters are recruiting which players.  Did I mention, uat recruiting reporter guy Andrew Bone was the one that got De'Vinner started in the 7-on-7 Camps in the first place.
