Looks awesome.

This is the movie they shot here that allowed me to embarrass myself in front of Quentin and Samuel L. And also the reason Leo was sitting 5 feet from me when I sat on the floor for the the Hornets/Lakers game.

I'll be honest.  I'm not that excited about it either based on the trailer.  I'm sure it will have witty dialogue and some interesting, intense scenes, but the premise of the movie is a bit blah compared to his other films.

Considering slaves were not educated, how did he know there was a "D", much less that it is silent? This will be almost as good as a black Jim West.

But it should be a good $1 rental......

Quentin Tarantino's movies are in a different universe.  He reinvents stuff all the time such as Hitler being killed by a fire in a movie theater in Inglourious Basterds.

That part doesn't bother me.  It's the ho-hum plot of a bounty hunter looking for someone that doesn't strike me as interesting.  It worked in Kill Bill because of the eccentric characters, the style of the shot, the fact that we didn't know who exactly she was looking for, and the location of her child.  Hopefully we'll learn more about the film as the release date gets closer.

^This.

And with the exception of his latest film, what is the fascinating plot to any other Tarantino movie? Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, Death Proof...Seems pretty on-par to me.

That's because you guys are young and can suspend history...Since you were never really taught it anyway.

If I wanted a made up western, I would have watched Cowboys and Aliens again.....

You ask me ( and nobody did ) QT has been steadily sliding down the idiot hill.

Reservoir Dogs  -  Brilliant and different

Pulp Fiction -- Wild, brilliant, unhinged and different

Jackie Brown -- Eh.

Kill Bill 1 & 2 -- Brilliantly done, derivative of all the cheesy Japanese vengeance movies but spun well

Grindhouse/Deathproof -- Ok.  We've seen this before.  A shitty movie is a shitty movie even when you mean for it to be shitty.  This is the cinematic equivalent of Limp Bizkit music.

Inglorious Basterds -- Same formula, some good individual performances but we've seen it already.

In terms of quality his films have slowly slid downward.

Kill Bill (which I love) is slightly less than Pulp Fiction.  The drop from Bill to Grindhouse was falling-off-the-cliff level.

What he said^^^

Waltz was remarkable in Inglorious Basterds, but he put that performance to shame in Django.

Um...I'm pretty sure the money made from the movie will line the pockets of QT and the studio.

Foxx got a paycheck regardless of the success of the movie.
