Simple fact is Dan Mullen, and his wife, were seriously butt hurt about losing Newton and tried to use the media to lick their wounds. It did a number on Auburn for a while but that shit came back to backfire on MSU and who knows if that shit is over for them or not.
I do think that the "self reported" violations were in part damage control on MSU's part. They knew there were some loose ends on a bad deal that could seriously screw up Mullens plans before they even got started. So, what did they do? Blamed it all on the black preacher daddy and a "rogue" associate to the program. If the truth were to be told, shit could get reaaallll ugly for State.
