Any of you knuckledraggers read? 

I recently gave up on a book 150 pages in.  I've never not finished a book.  This one was Against the Day by Thomas Pynchon.  Horrid and unreadable.

I enjoy reading. What kind of books are you in to? I like some historical fiction books and also like books with religious ties kind of like The Davinci Code (I just use this book as an example because everyone knows it...there are a lot better ones I have read).

Nelson Demille is my favorite author. I've read most of his books but The Charm School and the Lions Game have to be my favorite.

Back to your topic, I believe some book by Dean Koontz was the only one I haven't been able to finish. It was awful. I haven't bothered picking up anything else by him.

I actually read, I just finished A Wolf at the Table by Augusten Burroughs, very nice read. Another good read was Born Standing Up by Steve Martin.

I just finished Hard Fighting Soldier by Chette Williams, probably not your genre'. 

I am about 100 pages into the latest Grisham offering, which is typical for his books.  Just an entertaining read.  Not as good as his early stuff, but it rarely is these days. 

I also read Covert: My Years Infiltrating The Mob, by Bob Delaney, a current NBA referee and former New Jersey state trooper.  Good book. 

I don't get much into heavier things anymore.  I am happy with a James Patterson suspense "novel" these days.  I also like Patricia Cornwell.

Most everything I read is outright history except I do enjoy the writings of W.E.B. Griffin.  He writes historical military fiction spanning from WWI up through Vietnam.  I suggest trying one of his books if you have a moment.

I don't think we'll be attending the same book club, though.

I mostly read a lot of military history mainly about the War Between the States, the American Revolution, the Spanish-American War, and WWII. 

I just recently finished reading "Wolf of the Deep" by Stephen Fox about the CSS Alabama and Capt. Semmes; I also recently finished reading "Last Flag Down" by John Baldwin/ Ron Powers and "Sea of Grey" by Tom Chaffin (a local Atlantan) both about the epic voyage of the Confederacy's last commerce raider the CSS Shenandoah.  Currently making my way through the Aubrey/ Maturin novels by Patrick O'Brien ("Master and Commander", etc.) which are phenomenal (and quite detailed) if you're interested in that time period of British Naval History (Napoleonic era).

But as Saniflush suggested W. E. B. Griffin is a great author...I usually have a difficult time putting his books down.  At some point I will be starting the "Badge of Honor" series suggested by Sani.

Just my 2 cents...
