Haven't read most of this thread, just glanced at it.  Should Rush have called her a whore or slut?  Probably not.  Should have used a better choice of words? Probably so.   Is Fluke really a whore/slut?  I don't know and don't care.   None of that really bothers me.

Two things.  I shouldn't have to foot the bill for birth control.  Last time I checked (have family that works there) the local county health dept will give you birth control free of charge.  The second thing that bothers me about this is the double standard of the media.  I think someone touched on it.  I got this off teh bookfaces and I have checked it out for accuracy but pretty sure it's true.

Where was the outrage from the media when these women were being attacked?  Now, I am no fan of Palin or Bachmann, but pretty clear double standard if you ask me.

Don't you know that ad hominem attacks by the left are just in good humor; it's only the name-calling on the right that's hurtful, mean-spirited, and in poor taste.

Good collection of quotes there, AUT1.

By the way, it was interesting to see Carbonite's stock drop 12% yesterday after they pulled ads from Rush's show.  Coincidence?

Here are a couple of questions that need to be asked:

1.  How can Mrs fluke afford Georgetown law (Guessing upwards of $50,000/year) but can't come up with $50 - $100 a month for the pill?

2.  Why did she not choose to find a law school that has a health program that does provide the contraceptive coverage she so desperately seems to need?

All covered in her testimony, a transcript of which, is on page one of this thread.  Short version: she's on what she called a Public Interests Scholarship, and she feels that women shouldn't have to compromise going to a great university or law school because of health coverage, and that someone/some company should compromise their profits to subsidize or provide free contraception.  And, once again, she didn't say she needed shit.

You folks with so many questions and concerns about her testimony, and wanting to make it personal about her, should go read or watch the youtube video of her testimony if you're too lazy to read.

Making it personal about her misses the bigger picture, which is a left wing agenda to have government force insurance companies to pay for contraception.

Maybe you hit on this point in another post that I missed due to an Internal Server Error but it's actually a bigger picture than that.  Up until a few weeks ago Obamacare forced Religious institutions to provide healthcare insurance that included contraceptives, abortion-inducing drugs, and sterilization procedures for all employees.  The Pharaoh's administration developed a very narrow compromise on February 10th (basically shifting the responsibility onto the insurance company) after all the Catholic Bishops in the United States flatly said that the Church would not comply in spite of the law.  However there are still institutions that this law applies too (including Georgetown, not to mention Catholic Charities and religious hospitals) because the proposed exception is too narrow.  The end result of this is what the leftists are looking for anyway as you write; these institutions will drop healthcare altogether and employees will end up in the Obamacare Health Exchanges run by FedGov.
