AU/Bama play their customary pre-conference game in Monkeytown Tuesday night. Better check my dates because I was wrong about Purdue. Neither of these teams are exactly tearing it up this year and AU comes in at 7-6. I admit I haven't watched an inning of Auburn baseball so far but from the write ups, it appears they're pretty competitive. A ton of new faces this year so it's hard to tell just what they've got.
After 13 games against a pretty decent schedule, the Tigahs have their first 6 batters in the line up all at .333 or better. Team is batting .324 overall. They don't hit a lot of long balls (5) but they do get on and steal a lot of bases. It looks like the starting pitching for the most part is fairly solid. With the exception of 2 games out in Tuscon against #8 Areyzoney, vitrtually all of their losses have been 1-2 run affairs. Don't know what that really says but I'm hoping they just need that little something or changing a little luck to put them over the top.
Anywho, here's to slapping the Tahd around tomorrow night.
