What I find hilarious about the whole circus is that everyone insists Alabama offered him a greyshirt. But with the signing limitations, that is no longer possible. A greyshirt is when you sign a kid to a binding letter of intent, but don't put him on scholarship until January. What Saban did was tell him not to sign with anybody, and "I promise" we'll sign you in January. I mean, after all, his word is his bond, right? Unless, of course, the kid's surgery doesn't go well, or Saban finds a couple 5-star tackles that want to sign next year. In that case, just hang on another year, and he'll for sure sign you in 2014....
