BTDub....we always stop at the last stand on the left just as you head out of town.  A bag of boiled peanuts, some alligator jerkey and a useless sharks tooth souvenire for the kid are a must for the trip.

I would have if the he'd had been lecturing me after issuing a ticket. Lecture (within reason), or ticket, but not both.  And yes, I've stopped a cop and told him just that as he started to lecture me while handing me a ticket to sign.

I wasn't driving, but did often in that town, so I kept my mouth shut as my friend took the ass chewing.  He didn't write him a ticket, just chewed his ass out real good.   They were dicks then.  Like I said, once they got a new mayor, he fired them and hired all new people.  It was bad driving through there for a couple of years, now, not so much.

Just to add to the cautions and warnings, you better make damn sure you are abiding the speed limits going through Eufaula especially, ESPECIALLY, during travels seasons. If you have an out of town tag, BOOM!......they got that ass.

Nor does it help when you have about talked your way out of a ticket (haven't even asked for you license, just telling you to slow down) to have your buddy, ask the policeman if he wanted a donut and hold up a box of them........

Now, what I have actually seen and heard is people with tickets for 10-15 over claiming they were really stopped for going only 1 or 2 over, and the cop just lied.  That's common.  I've yet to EVER see ANYBODY produce a ticket written for anything less than 10 mph over.   Never met a cop that would fess up to writing anyone for 1 mph over either.
