I would agree, except for the fact that it was Heath Evans. I know Heath personally, and he is one of the most genuine people there is.
To Heath Evans! An Auburn and Saint icon all rolled in to one.
True story.
About 10 years ago, I was a freshman at Auburn. I was riding in the car with two dudes, one of which was one of those blatant assholes, you don't really like, but just end up hanging out with. We're at the stoplight at the corner of Shug and College. It was, if I remember correctly, a Friday afternoon before a big game weekend. We had been drinking. Across the the street at the other street light, a Cadillac Escalade is bouncing due to giant dudes dancing in the car to rap music. The asshole in our car, riding shotgun, glared wide-eyed at them and slowly and sternly raised his middle finger at them. This resulted in a car chase out of an action movie, that ended with us getting pinned down in a cul-de-sac in Harmon.
Three of the four guys in the car, who turned out to be recently former Auburn players, got out of the car, and I thought we were going to die.
"Who the fuck flipped us off?"
We all without shame pointed at the guy who did it. He deserved whatever he got.
After a stern talking to the three guys returned to the car. The the one white guy who had stayed back the whole time, finally approached the window. He whispered so the other guys wouldn't hear. "Hey. Sorry bout that. I know you guys were just playin around. No big deal, man. I'm Heath," as he extended his hand for the driver to shake.
The driver meekly replied, "Yeah. I know. Evans, right?"
"Yeah. Take care man. Again, sorry about that."
