Yep, the coaches poll should be removed because of agenda and more importantly, because every single coach I've ever heard interviewed about the topic, says he doesn't have time to pay attention to what any other teams are doing except who they're focused on that week.
Why on earth 99% of the college football world knows the system is incredibly flawed but no one is willing to do anything about it is just mind boggling. And if it's really all about money, how do you not go to some form of playoff system that would generate 10X the $$$ of our current set up?
If I look at this thing objectively, even though I don't want to see Auburn's biggest rival get in the big game, I'd probably have to go with them at #2. I think they just have way more athletes and yes, I believe their defense would wear OSU out. But, that's just my perspective. Why should my OPINION or anyone else's for that matter, have the biggest influence over who plays in this game? And who's to say that Weeden and company wouldn't baffle Bama? Has Bama faced an offense even remotley similar to OSU's?
Like Doyle's article points out, the things you can actually measure say that OSU has a better body of work. But because a handful of people who are given votes THINK Bama is better, they get the nod. Just how much money did that cost the Pokes?
